Good evening folks. I recently searched the internet for a very specific product that is produced and distributed by only one (reputable) company in order to determine which, of their 4 similar products, I wanted to purchase. (I decided and made my purchase in a store vs. online, FYI.) It should have occurred to me that, when I began to see advertisements for the same type of product (from a couple of different companies) everywhere I searched on the internet, that they were somehow related to my original inquiry - but, alas, it did not even occur to me that I may have picked up an "admirer." Long story short: this all ended up very badly with a regretable online purchase that is not the subject of this post. But, I'm still seeing these advertisements all over the internet where I surf so I wonder if someone can tell me if I'm getting spammed "to death" via some Malware or other bug that may have been deposited into my PC and, if so, is there is some way that I (with your help) can make this go away because I really don't want to look at anymore of these ads (it's like sprinkling salt onto a fresh open wound)? I may not even be in the proper venue with my question here so please forgive me if I'm directing this query to the wrong place but, if you could redirect me, I would very much appreciate it that, too.
As per the instructions in "Read this before posting for Malware Removal Help," I ran Trend Micro's HiJackThis, the results of which I copied just below. (I also ran "Malwarebytes'-Anti-Malware" that I learned about from a prior problem I encountered not related to this post, but I didn't find anything new in it (a good thing). Aside from these two diagnostic scans, I haven't run anything else.)
Could someone kindly tell me if there is anything that I can do to rid myself of this "problem" if, in fact, there is something that can be done from my end? Thanks so much for your help. Have a great night.
