When I start up, multicoloured vertical lines appear on the screen and then it freezes. I have to switch it on and off a coupla times before it works.
What is causing this and what can I do to fix it ???
Plug it into an external monitor and boot it up. FN F8 toggles between the LCD and the monitor. If the vertical lines appear on the monitor then you have a problem with the video card if the vertical lines only appear on the LCD then you have a problem with the LCD. Hold down the FN key and push the power button to run Dell Diagnostic at boot.
