E510 Startup problem

Just wanted to see if anyone can confirm my thoughts..........

E510 running Windows XP Media Center Ed Version 2002 Service Pk 3

Pentium 4 3.40GHz with 3.0 GB.

Worked fine all day yesterday, normal shutdown last night, this morning....... GRRRRRR

Will not pass POST.  Constant beeping, with 1 & 4 show lighted on the display of the tower.  Sooooo

CPU or MoBo? If I restart, then hit F2, once in setup, hit ESC, then exit it will boot?!?!?!

Thanks for the replies!   Smile

Re: E510 Startup problem

I have an E510.

There is no light 1 and 4 combination listed in the Dell manual  HERE

What is the color (or blinking color) of the Power indicator?

However, first thing, with the PC powered off,  is to reseat (unplug then plug back in) the memory modules and see if that makes a difference.  Same way with any Video Card.

Re: E510 Startup problem

Ok this is neat. Last night after arriving home, same problem.  Power indicator was green, restarted using the F2 then Esc, then exit.  This morning booted fine, twice in a row.

????  Confused

I will see again today after work what it does.

Thanks for the reply Fireberd.
