Why did Dell REMOVE Overclocking Capability from the Bios menu?

I bought  a Dell XPS M1730 notebook after reading great reviews from people who've had one for over  a year and love the overclocking assistance options in the system bios.

Well needless to say I was floored when I booted my system and hit F2 to get to the setup menu and there was no clock speed adjustment options to be found under any menu. I even went back to check to ensure I was looking in the right place. Yep, it's supposed to be right there under the Performance menu. It's not....

Why did dell remove yet another (see my previous post asking why they stopped shipping Expresscard Remotes) feature that has been around for years from one of their best laptop systems?

Lapgamer,

You should consider returning your computer to Dell. This is a link to Dell's return policy.  This is a link to Dell's manual page.

Many customers are buying an Alienware M17X.

Thanks for replying.

After some more reseach I discovered that the reason it's not there is because it depends on teh processor you get. You have to have  a 9000X or something to get that feature.

glad they made it clear during the purchase process.... /sarcasm
