how can i upgrade or improved my dell e521? (new video card, sound card, processor, motherboard, etc)

i'm not a very good at computers but i know something, i know my dell e521 that i bought in 2007 is not a good gaming system.

i use my computer to do homework and other common stuff, but also i like to play games with, thing is, games are getting faster, better, meaner, and my computer doesn't and games i used to play before are almost impossible to play now due to lag and slow loading times.

so my question is, what could i do to make it faster, and better to play games with it? like any new better video card, new bigger hard drive, new processor, or even new mother board. Here are my systems specs.

E521

windows vista home premiun

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, ~2.2GHz

958MB RAM

DirectX 10

NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE

138 GB

Hope you could help me thank you.

Hi. To play games. We need 2 things

1: Memory (Ram)

2: Good 256 MB Video card.

This will help you to get a good performance of the system.

Regards

Knight

you would want at least 2GB RAM.

You might find better deals by comparing items at frys.com, newegg.com, amazon.com, etc. I got cheapo 512MB video card on sale and/or w/ good rebates at Frys for my kids computers so they could play games faster ($50).

If you have your computer's Dell service tag,  you can try the Dell Parts & Upgrade Wizard:

good luck!
