Camcorder - Canon MV700i

I have the above camera which connects via firewire. I have an XPS 420 which has two firewire posts. Before I upgrade to my new computer I had no problems with XP and Roxio importing Video but now with Vista Home Premium and Roxio 2009 my camera is not regognised. I have looked on the Microsoft site which tells me that some camcorders are not recognised in Vista - If this is the case can I do anything about it? Help please!!!
