CD driver no longer recognized

Vista is no longer recognizing my CD driver, even after I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, and again rebooted. Data cable is still attached.

Hi, McCrackan:

The best first shot I would suggest is to delete the upper and lower filters. This generally fixes missing CD drives. Keep in mind you may need to reinstall your burning program and/or iTunes, if you use these.
