E1405 Wireless Issues!

I just reformatted an E1405 before handing it out to one of our warehouse employees, but I can not seem to get the wireless feature to work. The WiFi logo does not light up at all, and I have downloaded what I thought was the proper driver with no luck. When I go to Start > All Programs > Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility the hourglass pops up, then nothing happens after that.

I've tried  Fn + F2 but that doesnt seem to work. There is no wireless option showing up in my Network Connections either. I really need to resolve this issue, as I cant hand it out until I do. I've tried going to the Driver section here at Dell for this laptop but none of the files are on their server anymore.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Blake

Re: E1405 Wireless Issues!

You must load Notebook System software and then the Chipset Drivers first before loading any other driver. Did you do that first?

The Notebook system software is un Utilities. The Intel Chipset drivers are under Chipset. Check under opterating system to make sure you have the correct OS selected. You can look here.

Re: E1405 Wireless Issues!

None of the files for the E1405 are available to download. I've tried most of them and they all lead me to a  "This webpage is not found".

Any ideas as to where I can go?

Re: E1405 Wireless Issues!

When you double click on "here" in the previous post you should get  the files to download. If you can not then

you have another issue.

Re: E1405 Wireless Issues!

Ever find a fix to this.  i have the same problem.  I started with Vista then reformatted and loaded XP sp3 and now my wifi doesnt work.  I bought a new card intel 5100 (intel 3945 previous) and it still does not work.  In the device manager, the device is showing, but the driver shows it can't start (Code 10).  Any help would be appreciated.

Re: E1405 Wireless Issues!

I have ran into this issue before after reinstalling the OS. I installed a bios update and issue was solved, try it even if you have the most current bios
