Is the Intel 537EP v9x DF PCI Internal modem TAPI compliant?

I've been to the Netrworking and Wireless part of the Forum, but can't seem to figure out how to start a thread, so I'm starting it here. Can someone please tell me if the Intel 537EP v9x DF PCI Internal modem is TAPI compliant? I'm using some fax software (StupidFax) that will only work if the modem is a TAPI modem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Is the Intel 537EP v9x DF PCI Internal modem TAPI compliant?

I did a google search for that modem and found a lot of info but none say anything directly about TAPI compliancy.  Since that is a "Data/Fax" modem, have you actually tried that program to see if it works? (and works with the Operating System you have).

About all I can offer, as you failed to include your PC Model number and Operating System, that must be on any initial problem post for someone to give you specific assistance or advice.  We are not (mostly) Dell employees on here - just users helping users so we do not have access to all the Dell databases and have no info on individual components, such as this modem.

If you can post here, you should be able to post on the other forum sections.

Re: Is the Intel 537EP v9x DF PCI Internal modem TAPI compliant?

Thanks for your quick reply! I apologize for omitting that info - I should know better. I have a Dell, obviously, I think it's a model 2400? Pentium 4, 2.8 ghz, 1 G RAM, running Windows XP Pro, SP2.

I tried the software soon after I installed it. I get a brief hourglass, then nothing. When I look at the Processes running, I can see it as a listed Process, which strikes me as strange, since it isn't visibly running.

I've also emailed the software maker, and am awaiting a response.

I scoured the Intel site to no avail, too. I even tried to find a place where I could email them a question, with no luck. I think they have a forum, but I didn't get very far there either. I might revisit that and see if I can post a question.

If you're stumped, don't fret about it. It's not a big deal. If I can't get the fax software to work I can figure out another way to skin the cat.

Matt

Windows XP has built in fax software and you don't need a 3rd party fax program.  Have you tried the built in fax program?  I've had modems in the "vintage" of yours and the built in fax program worked without problems.
