Community Site Update - Jan 6

Now blogs and forums are easier to read. Based on user feedback, Dell team increased the font size of forum posts and blog post/comments. We are still getting reports of users getting error messages when trying to post on forums, this is not being ignored, we are going thru multiple patches to eradicate the problem. We are not 100% done, but working to fix the errors as identified. Thank you for your continued patience and feedback.

One approach people use is to set preferences in their browser.  In Firefox 3, it’s under View>Zoom. Select Text Only to limit the view. In IE, it’s under View>Text Size

Let me check into the problem of the site options not working in the dell community site.

Yes, please check why the Site Options text size setting isn't working, but I don't think I should be changing the text size of the browser just for Dell Community, do you?  Text size for rest of Dell sites looks right from here - just the one for Dell Community looks so much bigger for my liking (the old DCF looked just right).  It's fine if the text would warp, but they do NOT, and I have to scroll left-and-right just to finish reading one line!  Can't change screen resolution to make it smaller either - I'm on an Inspiron noteook.

Please don't send questions about your issues to me by Private Messages; post them in the appropriate board so everyone can read. Thanks

I sure miss the old style forums.  I didn't give them a chance initially, but some improvements, such as the font size, is better.  Everything comes through great on my Macbook with Safari.  I haven't tried with my Dell yet but will.  I still use my Dell.

I had the same problem trying to find out how to post; I kept going back and forwards between 'create new content' and 'choose a forum' before I figured it out.

I used the old forum a lot and am sure you used to be able to search specific forums for specific strings.  Now all I can do is search for single words in the entire community site which gives thousands of replies.  No-one is going to bother searching for answers if it stays like this, they will just post a new thread, which means there will be multiple threads on the same topic.  Also there's no indication as to whether the thread has any replies until you open it.

If I'm missing something and there is some way to do 'proper' searches perhaps someone could indicate how.

Carina:  I've had some luck using quotes for search strings and phrases and using AND to narrow things down - for example, "Inspiron 530" AND Vista AND "blue screen".

There's also a tiny more search options link on the search page which has a few more options, but I haven't had as much luck with it.

Ok I have a problem. I know there has been alot of problems with the online game maplestory on vista. I did as the direction told me and switched the properties to xp. Well I can log on and play for maybe a min before I get this message: error code : 10093 (Either the application has not called WSAStartup. or WSAStartup failed.) Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
