desktop display is sideways

My daughrter's cat sat on my laptop and now the display is sideways.  I have to turn the computr on its side to read anythng.  I'd appreciate any help someone could give me to get it back.  The cat won't tell me what she did.  Thanks.

Hello,

You just need to go into video properties and change the screen orientation. Yes

Shame on the little cat. They seem to have no concept of how to use computers.

If you are using Windows XP, you can go into the Control Panel, Device Manager, Display Adapters, Settings, depending on the video card, and set the screen image as you prefer.

if using Vista, just right click on the desktop and choose preferences, and you can make the changes from there.

There also may be a shortcut key(s), as it seems the cat used, to do this but I am not aware of which they are.

I always used the Control Panel method.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to all who have responded.  I called my son in another city and he was smart enough to google it and all I needed to do was control - alt - up arrow.

Hello PMMi, Thanks for the update. This appears to be the "Cat" way, and the fast way to perform a task that always took me the longer way.

Your update helps us all.
