Dell 2208wfp monitor not detecting any signal on dvi port

I am running XP Professional with NVidia Geforce FX 5200 card. It has VGA out as well as DVI out. Last week I got a new 22 inch monitor. It is Dell 2208WFP.
When I connect the monitor using DVI port, monitor's auto detect is saying that it is not detecting any signal. I see blank screen. I downloaded latest drivers from nVidia site and installed them. I don't see any difference. Still no signal from dvi port.
Luckily I have old 17inch VGA monitor. I connected it on VGA port of nVidia card. I connected DVI port to the new monitor. I played with nVidia control panel. I tried dual vide, clone etc. The 22inch monitor always said it is not detecting any signal. When I connected VGA port of video card to the new monitor, it worked fine.
I don't know whether the dvi port of new monitor has any issue or I am configuring the card wrong.
But I do remember nVidia setup asked me whether the monitor supports HD. I selected No as answer. Does that cause the card to disable dvi port?
I appreciate if you can point me to any gotchas with the monitor.
