Overclock XPS 720 with Q9450?

I picked up a Q9450 processor to replace the Q6700 in my XPS 720, thinking I could overclock it in the BIOS as I had the 6700.  Unfortunately, when the 9450 was installed, the CPU multiplier seemed to be locked in the BIOS.  Is there any way to overclock this chip in a 720?  I've heard that trying to overclock a CPU using nTune wasn't a good idea.  True?

I'm pretty new to the overclocking game, so I'd appreciate any help -- how to's, settings, etc.

BTW, what are your thoughts on performance of the Q6700 running at 3.2 Ghz. vs. the Q9450 running at 2.66 Ghz?  The 9450 seems quicker, but I haven't done any benchmarks.

Thanks for any help!
