Microsoft after OS re-install

I have been told by Dell that I need to reinstall my operating system on my Dell Inspiron 9100.  This will wipe out all the applications I've loaded on the machine.  The technician did not know what to do about the Microsoft Office Suite product that I purchased with my Dell Laptop.  Does anyone know what I have to do to make sure I can reinstall all the Microsoft applications after a new OS installation?

Re: Microsoft after OS re-install

You should have been issued an installation disk for the office program. If you have misplaced it, Dell may replace it. You need to contact them.

Re: Microsoft after OS re-install

Re-installing will cause you to lose everything(make backup copies of files and folders that you cannot afford to lose). Did you consider doing a repair installation, first.

Insert the operating system disk. If you do NOT have one, request one below.

Restart your computer. Press any key to boot from cd.

Choose install.

Do the agreement.

Now choose repair. Let it do it's own thing and follow the instructions.

Then remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.

Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card

Remember to go to Windows Updates and get all the Updates again.

Re: Microsoft after OS re-install

I forgot to mention, if you do NOT have the Microsoft Office Suite disk, you can also use the request form for one.
