To the Liaisons:
Is there a chance that my post can be stickied so that it may benefit others?

Did any of the Dell Liaisons give you the courtesy of a reply?
aps@sun: Did any of the Dell Liaisons give you the courtesy of a reply?
Thanks for asking, aps. I haven't heard anything yet but I'm hoping that the holiday weekend is the reason for that.
I want to thank Dell-Richard B and Bugbatter for their help as well as aps@sun and PudgyOne for their encouragement regarding my post. Also, anyone who voted on the poll or will at some point and anyone else that may have slipped my mind, thanks. It wouldn't have been possible without the original Wikis so thanks to those who laid the groundwork and let me do the easy part.
williamkidd-keep doing great things on this forum. The forum has lots of room for improvement. Your work is appreciated. Annie
Dell Email Notification Settings
My settings are
On the first page of the user panel, make sure to enter your public email address there so you get email notifications. ( I have found out that you do NOT have to enter your public email address)
Email options, edit user profile, site options, Content editor enhanced, Yes to everything, enable post mouse-over-popup no, email configs, yes to all.
In the regular forums, beneath that LARGE Tag cloud, you see a link to Forum Subscriptions, click on it, you should be able to click on it here.
Make sure that they are all set to no, unless you want every email from that forum.
This may clear everything up for everyone.

If you're having problems, start a new thread with make and model or your computer, Operating System.
If in the Printers Forum, please include the Make and Model of Printer and how the printer is connected. Thanks.
Williamkidd you did it, great post.
There should also be an explanation on how the stars beside the titles work ? and how to tag a post ?
Anyways this post should be posted in all the themes and at the top.

Rick or anyone else could you please help me! I have been a member of the Dell Dommunity since 2000 or so. I have never had a problem posting or navagitaging this untill THIS NEW COMMUNITY started.
I'm registered and yet I can not post, I have read on how to post yet I see nothing after I choose a subject on the left and look for somthing that sats post on the right. THERE IS NOTHING THERE! Also in my user profile there is a box with all my info in there and to the left of that there are boxes to click on to start a new post. I click on that and it just goes to another page (basically the same one) and I still can not post.
I have always used this group when I needed help and now that the Holiday Season is here and I really need this Dell has changed it and I can not even use it.
I have contacted DELL CHAT who is really tech support and although they have tried in more then one occassion they could not help as they new there were many problems with the new site buy had no info what to do or who to contact.
Would sombody be kind enough to get me up and going so I could use this group again or direct me to a number I could call and speak witha human who knows what is going on.
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong area but at this point I need help ASAP.

I think it was somewhat helpfull but I'm new to this and still a little confussed.
is there a way to get the old forum layout back? as in a list of threads with date/time on the right. this new forum layout has only a few threads a page? and where are the post date/times? i must click each thread to see the post date/time? this is ridiculous.....
can i get more threads in a page?
and where are the forum options to set? this is becoming more of a "beautiful interface" more than a easy to navigate forums.

You can change various options in your User Panel - which is accessible in the top right of the forums front page, +/or at the top of any threads page.
It says "Expand User Panel"

I have no idea what I am doing, but finding you gives me hope that perhaps one day I may figure things out-thanks.
I joined to enter the sweepstakes to win a new Dell and I think that the rules said I was to post after registerin and joining new community to be entered for the sweeps--If I have accomplished this or Not --I have no idea! Hopefully I get soemthing saying I am entered so I can get on with perhaps learning more about how to fix what ails my computer, which is a lot. Is this only for Dell or all pc's relativiely the same in regards to getting help? I know you may not have the answer/s, but you may at least know in which direction (taken by the hand and led) to go!?
Hi kblessd49.

It looks like you're doing fine so far. Was this the sweepstakes that you were talking about or is there another one? According to the rules on the Dell Gift Rap Sweepstakes you have to do the following:
"4. How to Enter: Contestants are automatically entered when they establish an account in the Dell Community on Dell.com and join the Gift Rap group within the Dell Community."
However, this one shows a prize of a Dell Gift Card ($4000) and not a new Dell, although that will surely buy a new Dell. There may be another sweepstakes that I'm not aware of.
You'll see a button in that first link that I gave you that says Join this Group and according to the rules that I quoted above all you should have to do is click on that to finish your entry. Perhaps one of the liaisons can comment on this for us? But that is the way that I'm reading it.

The Dell forums are for Dell owners/users as well as those who have questions about Dell computers. However, if you have questions about a different system then I (or someone else) can suggest some sites where you can get the answers you need as many of us post on other sites as well. Most PCs are relatively the same but different brands sometimes can have different features.
