Windows XP startup RUNDLL error

Hi, I'm having a computer when my desktop loads up after I log into Windows (XP).  I get an error message in a dialogue box.

It says RUNDLL at the top and then: Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL The specified module could not be found.

The only option is "OK."  Then for about 15 to 20 minutes nothing will open properly such as My Pictures, My Documents, Microsoft Word, and the Internet Explorer.  I have to wait about 20 minutes before I get a report error message from MSN Live Messenger then everything works normal afterward.  I have tried turning off automatic sign-in for the messenger and the problem still occurs.  I was just told this could be caused by a virus and/or spyware.  I have had this problem for awhile now and would like to know what to do in order to fix this.  Thanks Stick out tongue

You should download the free utility HijackThis according to the instructions here:

Run a scan, and copy/paste the logfile generated here:

Wait for instructions from the HJT experts on how to proceed.
