Dell Axim X5 touch screen sync.

Aloha, I recently found my old Axim X5 in a box in the garage. It had been stored for about 2 years in a box with other electronics. I decided to charge it up and see if it still worked. Well it powered on and got to the touch screen sync page. I touched the crosshairs as required but nothing happens after that. The crosshair just moves back to it starting position to start the process all over again. I tried syncing the touch screen several times, gave it to my wife to try and even gave it to my daughter but none of them could get by the touch screen sync page. Any other suggesstions?
