Corporate Office Address/Contact

Hello! Does anyone know the corporate office mailing address or phone number? It would also help to have a specific contact to write to. My husband and I have spent nine hours either talking to Dell employees or waiting for their phone calls (which usually don't come) and I really need another venue to try to voice my concerns with our order. Thank you!

Hey, Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble (like the rest of us).

Just out of curiousity - did you have to re-format the hard drive and re-install the OS? or did Dell do it? It's crazy the things they want you to do in order to make their products operational.  I mean - alot of people are not that comfortable with technology - they just want a computer that works. Many people can't reinstall the OS - or install a hard drive -or any of the other nonsense that Dell makes their customers do.

I think the problem is mainly buying computers online. If you purchase from a store - you can bring it back in in a few weeks and tell them it doesn't work. Most businesses would back up the purchase - and either exchange it or return it. But not Dell ... they don't have to because they can't see you and they can't hear you either!! They pay someone else to take the heat. I think this will catch up with them soon enough. No company can continue to ignore their customers and last in this economy.

That is a great point that you make in the fact that Dell can't (won't) hear us or see us.  Kind of give me the money and then they run.  While I had the Dell technician on the phone he told me what to do in order to wipe everything off the hard drive and reinstall the program.  The technician loves Microsoft Vista but I don't like it and that is what we have now.  I think it is because they made so many unnecessary changes and it makes things more difficult than it should be.  Then again maybe it is because I am old(er) and, like you, don't feel comfortable with the new technology.  It is such a pain to have to reinstall the new OS because not I have to reinstall all my other programs again.  This is just so heartbreaking to me since this all started with a problem I went to Dell to have answered and with that first lost all my music and then lost all my e-mail and contact information.  After that then it was dumping everything and starting over.  Never again will I purchase a Dell computer.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

Sorry you had troubles. For what it's worth, no maker that I am aware of includes software support, so even if you had a different brand, the same thing is very much possible.

Dell does not allow the use of asterisks to circumvent Forum Terms of Service. It has nothing to do with whether it was a negative post or not. Dell leaves non complimentary posts in these forums as long as they meet the TOS.

For future reference, make frequent backups. Even the best computers with wonderful tech support can have catastrophic failures that could lose data. It's always good to be over prepared.

Good luck with things in the future.... Since you are members of this forum, use it if you ever have any questions. Users here are knowledgeable and very willing to help.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

This forum has an automated filter that screens out certain words and changes them to asterisks.   I will guess that particular word is filtered because part of the terms of service includes no solicitation of legal action (put law and suit together and that gets automatically filtered too).

It's nothing personal, really.  It's just a program.  That filter has gotten most of us at one time or another, even in technical posts (for example, for a long time you couldn't post  the word screw, no matter what the context).

Understand that this is primarily a user-to-user forum as well, not a direct line to Dell.   Venting here is fine, but the forum is mostly about users helping other users with technical problems and questions.   If you want to learn how to fix things yourself so you have control over what happens to your computer, this is a good place to start.   As my Mother used to say:  "I can't means I don't want to".

'Tis a poor carpenter that blames his tools.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

Oops.  One thing I forgot is that what is the point of paying for service and technical support if you feel the idea is to do it oneself?  I tried fixing my problems by looking things up on the internet and coming in here for could not find the solution and that is why I paid to go to the source.  I felt that I should be getting technical support since I was paying over $100. to get that support and only thing I really ended up with was lost information and a high level of frustration.  I think it should be if you can't give the service then don't offer it.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

Sir, I have learned to use the web and I don't know if you have read my previous posts or if they have been removed because I offended someone but the addresses do me no good.  I wanted to talk to a human that worked for Dell Corporate and resided in the United States.  My issue is not with using the web but with understanding a person with an Indian accent.  The phone number you provided me does me no good because had you spent some of that time, which shouldn't have taken 5 minutes to read the other posts or to call the number yourself you would find that even though it is a phone listing in Texas in the United States it takes you directly to India.  I have been at this for well over a month now so I have tried many angles to get in touch with Corporate and nothing has worked so far.  I do not appreciate you talking down to me and find your tone offensive.  It is funny if you say something against the technical support the post gets deleted and the fingers smacked but if you say something against another 'poster' that is okay.  Well, sir, it is not okay with me.   I, too, am from the Philly area (originally) but one never forgets the tone from someone trying to be better than the other person.  Hope your computer works okay and that it retains all of your material, otherwise you might have to spend more than 5 minutes trying to get some resolution.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

after having made a good faith effort to contact dell customer service and/or technical support your best bet is to file a complaint with www.bbb.org.  after filing a report a dell representitive will contact you.  like other departments at dell they are far from perfect, and also make promises that are not always kept, and the entire process is very slow, but it is your best bet.  should that fail then you can report them to your states consumer protection people (which becuase of dell's tos i can not be more specifc about).  good luck.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

Thank you very much for your help and information.  You are very kind to go that one extra step that I needed.  I am currently trying to talk to the man from Consumer Support.  He is the one that reinstalled (or better yet walked me through the process) the OS last week.  Unfortunately, when I did that some of the information I tried to copy to my external hard drive was lost.  This has been a huge learning experience for me.  While this guy if very nice, as the others were, there is a language barrier since he is in India also.  I don't know if it is my hearing but I have a difficult time understanding them.  I have never gone though as many problems with anything as I have with this issue.  I guess it was a poor experience from the beginning and has esculated.  Again, thanks for the information.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

I would Love to have the corporate phone number but they are not going to release that information because it would be nonstop complaints. I have used Dell computers for the past 15 years and just bought a netbook. The process was real easy but the salespeople were VERY pushy in trying to convince me to to get adds ons that I did not want. It was shipped and delivered in one day. Unfortunately it was not loaded with the Works software so I had to call them. The rep was nice and promised to ship one out today and to transfer me to returns. That's when the madness began. I was transferred over 10 times, asked for managers and got reps from India and elsewhere and each time they asked for my account number name and address so they could connect me with the right person. I finally got throught to the sales department who again connected me with overseas. Trying again with the sales dept explaining that I had been on the phone for an hour just to get a return authorization and pleading with the rep she promised to get me thru to someone that would help me. So after 15 more minutes on hold someone did help me. It did take quite some time for him to complete the return authorization and all in all about an hour and a half of my time. I asked for a phone number of a manager or supervisor in charge of customer service and he gave me the same general number as listed on their web site. Next computer will be an Apple for me.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

You will never get a phone number to reach someone at the corporate office as everything is done in India now.  I don't know if writing them would do any good because it appears to me they don't care about their customers or there would not be so many posts on here.  Good luck and I am with you ... never a Dell again.

Re: Corporate Office Address/Contact

I bought my FIRST and LAST Dell in spring of 2007. I got all the top-of-the-line upgrades and software, extended coverage etc. I spent a lot of dough. I have not had tons of issues, not compared to some of the horror stories I've read about, but when I have needed some help it's been a nightmare... I've been forced to deal with techs that do not know as much as I do, who have recommended courses of actions that were unnecessary, can't speak English well enough to be easily understood, who hang up on you (more than 3 times over the years) rather than dealing with something beyond what’s on their script... I spoke to a guy today regarding a failure to boot after a routine MS update and he was ready to have me reinstall my entire OS and loose all my data until I refused and pushed for another option, which there was with Vista. There’s an alternate way to restore to an earlier save point. He should have known that. The alternative would have been immeasurable in terms of its cost... Time, lost data etc. Dell can continue to follow their policy of isolation, out sourcing, lack of any true customer service and they will continue to lose customers. I'll go back to Micron and post this to Facebook and Linkedin. Perhaps it will make someone look beyond the advertising before they buy. I'll spend more money rather than feel the way I do right now, to avoid wasting my time. No one needs this kind of frustration, not now in the current business environment, not ever.

JRob37  --- AMEN!!  I hope they leave your post as they have removed so many of mine for telling the truth.  I was not a smart as you and listened to them when they said reinstall the OS.  I lost everything ... Even things I tried to save to an external drive.  A nightmare.

They can delete it if they care to but that is not a solution... And I have the text saved anyway.
