Then last week I could no longer get a signal and was getting an error message when I try to watch live tv of 'Tuner Not Available - The tuner is currently in use by another application or is not working. Please close all other applications, restart Windows Media Center, and then try again.' Also, when I try and set up my tv connection again it cannot find a tuner, and the little preview pane that is in the bottom left corner of the program says 'Disk Error'.

I contacted Dell XPS support and after 2 hours of the guy connected to my computer without being able to figure it out (removing and reinstalling drivers) he said I need to reinstall Windows Vista. I am wondering if anyone out there has encountered the same issue and if there is a less drastic solution. Thanks!

No dolby via hdmi on my laptop.

Does anyone know how to get dolby to pass from my laptop to my TV via hdmi? First off, when I was buying the TV the estimated delivery date was 11/19. Which I was fine with. But when I got the email confirming it, it said it wouldnt be delivered until 12/4. How can they do this? They baited and switched me. I was not going to buy it if I would have known how long it woudl take to get here. Everytime I call they say they cant do anything because it is "downloading into the system." It is such a pain and they tell me to call back in 4 hours and they MIGHT have more details. I was planning on buying a new Dell computer in the next couple months as well but this is really making me turn the other way. I have had many Dell computers and have recommended them to others but this service is terrible. I also order Dell computers for the company I work for. We order about 40-50/ month and we also order some from CDW (which is cheaper). This experience is really making me think that I should stay away from Dell.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so how did it end up?

c.p to t.v

Just got my self the studio 1901 all in one really love it,would anyone know out the in cyberland how i can get to hook up my c.p to the t.v there is no hdmi out let on the c.p only 6 usb ports and a eathernet connection,if anyone has any idea's i think someone will please help.

Whenever I try and get it to auto scan it gets stuck on the first channel (21). It also freezes when I try a manual scan. Only option after that is to turn off and on. So my digital TV no longer works.

Looking on forums this has happened to a number of people. I can't find a solution on line.

I have tried:

- factory reset from the menu - it performs a reset but problem persists

- hard reset by holding down input button and turning on and off (as per manual) - in fact I couldn't make this reset work

- lots of fiddling with the channel table etc

So has anyone out there got a solution?

Or anyone with the same problem had any luck from dell support?

I had this problem after the recent freeview re-tune. My TV is about three years old and Dell support for this product has been, to be polite, less than what I would expect from such a large organisation. I would suggest anyone with the same problem contact BBC Watchdog. I have and they were very keen to hear my views. Everything I've read in these forums I've been through in the past 24 hours as far as dealing with customer service and calling different numbers trying to get answers. I'm just mad I spent all this money on this nice 32' lcd and couldn't get the answer I wanted to hear and I'm sure all of us wanted to hear regarding this tv. We will be glad to replace this tv for free if we are unable to fix it for free is what I was wanting to hear from the dell represenative, but like everyone else, I was basically told the same answer's I've seen on this forums. I also would like to apologize to the dell represenative if he felt I yelled at him, I'm just frustrated like everyone else who purchased this tv. Now let me share to everyone what i've come up with. I did all the other things I seen people try except buy a home theater system and take it to a repair shop to get it fixed. I put a small fan behind the tv thinking it maybe was getting hot, I switch the wires that connect from the speakers to the tv around from left speaker to right, I also took some boom box speakers that had wires simliar to the wires for the dell speakers and I connected the boom box speakers to the tv and to my suprising, the boom box speakers worked!!!!! But after maybe 10 minutes it went back to the popping and hissing noise from the speakers. SO IT IS NOT THE SPEAKERS FROM THE DELL TV!!!!!! So this is what I tried next. I connected the dell speakers and the wires back to the tv and waited for the popping noise to resume again from the one speaker. When it starts to make the noise from that one speaker, disconnect the wires from positive and negative jacks from the back of the tv. Once you do that, you will have sound comming from one speaker. Then take the wires that are disconnected and connect it to the jack where the one speaker is getting sound from. What I did was twist the 2 red wires together and twist theblack wires together and connected it back into the jack that was working with the one speaker. I don't know how long this will work, but I have sound comming from both speakers now. If I have any problems I will post it on here to let everyone know. I hope this helps everyone.

MS Media Center does not recognize Angel USB TV Tuner

Computer: Inspiron 6000; OS: Windows XP Media edition; TV Tuner: Angel USB.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and a Sony Bravia LCD TV, and I'm trying to connect them with an VGA-HDMI cable. The cable connects to the VGA output on my laptop and the HDMI 1 input on the TV. When I connect them nothing happens. The TV and the laptop give no indication that they recognize each other. (The TV does fine with inputs from my DVD and VCR players, so I suspect the issue is with my laptop.)

I have already tried without success:

* Changing the TV input to HDMI 1, HDMI 2, and PC

* Hitting FN+F8 multiple times on the laptop (nothing happens, except that some icons on my desktop get slightly re-arranged)

* Control Panel / Display / Settings / Display #2 / checking "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" / Apply

* Re-starting my laptop while connected, per recommendation in this post: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19261143/19439147.aspx#19439147

It may be that my laptop is not enabling VGA output, but if that were the case I have no idea how to enable VGA output.

Please help!

I recently purchased an LCD TV from Dell to send to my son in college. It has now been almost 3 weeks since I placed my order and as of yet he still has not received the order. This entire episode has been a joke and because there is no way to contact anyone in management at Dell I continue to get "I,m sorry responses from workers in India and Texas but no TV.

First the order was delayed because Dell ran out of the TV I wanted to purchase. I was told at that time that someone at Dell would call me when the TV was back in stock. That never happened. I then called on my own when I found the TV again listed on Dealnews.com.

When I ordered the TV I asked the sales associate if the shipping could be delayed for a week because my son was on his way to school and I wanted to make sure he would be at his apartment to accept delivery. I was assured that the order could be held. Two days later I got an email from Dell stating that the TV was shipped.

I called and tried to delay the shipment, but I was told there was nothing that could be done. As it happend my son got back earlier than expected so I assumed that he would be there to sign for the TV. However that was not to be. Several days later I received a note from UPS that they tried to deliever the TV to my home in Virginia not my sons apt. in Florida. In other words Dell had sent the TV to the billing address not the shipping address.

I asked Dell to send out another TV to my son's address as I had requested, but I was advised that Dell would need to be notified by UPS that the TV was being returned before they would send out another set. I asked Dell to contact UPS but I was told they had no out going phone lines and I would be responsible to getting the set shipped back. I contacted UPS and they sent the TV back and I called Dell to advise them of the incoming shipment.

They said they would send out a new TV to my son and he should get it no later than the end of Aug. I checked today and was advised that the TV was backordered until Sept. 11th. At this time I made at least 15 calls to Dell to get this order correct and still not TV.

I am tried of talking to India when it appears the staff is told to say they are sorry but there is nothing they can do.

I will never buy another product from Dell but I would still like to get my son his Gift.
