Does Dell make any defect free monitor?

Ok, so I just went through six SP2309Ws.  Each one had some noticeable screen defect.  After the sixth, I opted for a refund.

I then decided to try the P2310H since Dell touts it as a professional monitor and even includes a "Premium Panel Guarantee".  Well, I received the P2310H yesterday and after testing it, I see no less than four dead and stuck pixels on the screen.

What's going on here?  I'd like to return this now for a refund and try a different brand since Dell can't seem to send me a defect free monitor.

You are right.. Dell seems unable to produce defect free monitor, but even worse Dell seems to ignore evident defects reported by the customers by telling them it's all within their specifications. Look at http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19302919.aspx to see how Dell handles this kind of situations.

Re: Does Dell make any defect free monitor?

I first bought a u2410 monitor, which i didn't like. The "white glow" thing in all panel corners was very visible in front of the screen. And worse on angles. And the recovery time to full normal brightness after a powersave was very long, about 10-20 seconds or more. And then I didn't like the IPS coating, compared to S-PVA. Text looked dirty and un sharp. I send it back.

The I ordered an exchange for the 2408wfp, as I thought the S-PVA panel would be much better. But I was very wrong :( The panel light was uneven, as the brightness, contrast was brighter in the left side of the panel, and normal looking in the right side. And then there was the colours.. they were very bad. I have a 2007FP monitor, where the colours is much better. And I just can't get the colours right. I would thing, that its nearly impossible to get good colours without a hardware calibration unit. My blue colour still looks a bit strange, as if it consist of too much green... but I can't get it right :(

Okay, because of the brighter highlighted left side of the panel, I got a new one from Dell. And guess what.. its exactly the same. I would think, that the whole 2408 serie of monitors manufactured in Czech Republic is bad, suffering from the same faults. And Dell probably just send me a new 2408 unit, that stood side by the first one I got :( TO add up on my second unit, it also had a lit pixel bug. So now I ordered a third 2408wfp, which hopefully is better, but I don't think so.

So If Dell can't deliver a good monitor free of strange colour problems and other faults, I send everything back and get my money back. I'm not sure of how the picture looks in general. But for the Dell reputation, monitor IPS, PVA prices, I did expect something better as my older 2007fp monitor, was has been very good, and still is.

Personally I would think, that the u2410 will be a good monitor, if you can life with the white glow + dirty coating stuff on IPS (if its not a dell problem that can be fixed?) But I'll probably wait buying another u2410 until firmware A02 - A04 :-)
