Re: no sound , no device detected

The driver  for Audio is the ADI driver under Audio in the download pages:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=DIM_CEL_1100

However, it seems like you have more problems than just no sound.    Need to know the whole story to straighten it out - what exactly happened to your PC to cause the problem?

Re: no sound , no device detected

I did a clean out and I think I deleted the sound.  I had to sit down and place what was disabled, enabled, automatic, and manual.  When I go into the sound their no device as words , as what is the manufacturer.  In the sounds, speech and audio devices their no  audio device. With the Audio. Sound Playback--- Default device, MIDI music , Sound recorder Voice playback nothing but Default Device in all the spots an in the boxes nothing is written in the boxes and I cannot add anything.  But with all Hardware section everything is telling me that everything is working. In the Volume control it tells me that their is no mixer device available.  In the right hand corner theirs no speaker for volume.   Please he me

Re: no sound , no device detected

Did you try downloading and installing the ADI audio driver on the page I linked to?   After installing the driver It would probably show up as "Soundmax" in both device manager and control panel.
