Best Storage option to use

I am looking into creating a MySQL database on a new server and I am researching the best disk storage options.  In a nutshell, we are a very small company without deep pockets, so we're looking for the best solution for the money.  We will need about 4-10 TB of space, although most of that will be for future growth.   I'm pretty much of a novice in terms of storage.  The database will not be OLTP, so it doesn't need to be blazing fast, but of course we'd like good performance.  RAID or mirroring would be nice to have but not required.

We've bought some Powervault disk arrays, but find these VERY undependable - disks die on us all the time.  Network storage devices sound good, but our network bandwidth is only 1 gigabit.  Would we be best off with just a few large (1-2 TB) internal (SCSI/SATA?) drives?  Any other options?

Thanks,

Dan
