how do i set  my cp back to factory settings? and will it take off my wireless internet connections?

XP:  CTRL-F11 once at the Dell screen.
Vista:  F8 before Windows loads.  Choose Repair, then Restore.

Yes, you will lose your wireless configuration information if you do a restore.
