The regulars here don't "highly recommend" AVG, but it is adequate for the needs of some users. If it has been installed, we do not ask them to remove it unless there is good reason to do so. Nor do we post negative statements regarding a product without supporting documentation.

lsz, if I remember correctly, you had both AVG as well as AVAST installed during your last malware issue and you elected to keep AVG.

Rather than shooting in the dark by running this and that and speculating over why AVG did not take care of the malware, perhaps if would be a good idea to post on the Malware Removal Forum so one of those trained helpers on the list can see if he can find out exactly what it running around in there.  Please Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help

ok... what IS the recomended virus program...  I have no problem changing....  I will also post on the " correct " forum...

3. As for cnet I don't trust them never have never will
4. I never fully told him to switch it's option I just recommended him to, and the products I listed are awesome and have good prevention, and good detection
5. Now for the most important thing did those programs detect anything

This thread has gone off-topic.  It appears that some of the malware most likely invaded the system before the present version of AVG was installed.The issue in question is being handled on another forum.
