Hi, Jim:

Please provide the model of your Dell and your operating system, as well as the program you use to listen to audio CDs.

According to "System Manager", my drivers NEC DVD_/-RW ND 3530A & HL-ST DVD ROM GDR8164B are out.

Re: CD playing

Hi, Jim:

Your drives are "out"? If that means they're missing, then the solution is the old upper/lower filter fix described in the CD/DVD FAQ under "code 39 error". Give that a try, and please let me know if it fixes your problem.
