Win 7 Upgrade Registration Issues:

 

 

Forum Users, 

Recently the Windows 7 Upgrade Option website experienced technical issues. We were unable to process your order successfully, please expect to see your order cancelled on your Order Status page.  We are pleased to inform you that this issue has been resolved and invite you to return to http://www.dell.com/windows7upgrade and re-submit your order. Windows 7 D2D Registration Blog (Updated Information 11-11-2009)

 

Issue 1: Win 7 Upgrade - Wrong estimated Ship Date provided in shipment confirmation e-mail and status.

 

Status - Acknowledged, Dell is working to resolve

 

Solution - Not available yet. 

 

Issue 2:  Some customers are not able to reset the Win 7 Upgrade password on the registration site.

 

Status: Resolved 11-3-2009

 

Solution: In order to reset your password please call Customer Service at 1-800-624-9897. If you are still having an issue you can visit the Contact Us page and provide your name, email address, reason why you cannot register and issues you are having with your password reset.

 

 

 

 Issue 3:  Service Tag not being recognized

 

Status: Website Updated to fix issue

 

Solution: Resolved 11-3-2009

 

 

Issue 4: Customers not receiving e-mail confirmation ship date or they are getting various ship dates that change daily when registering for Win 7 Upgrade

 

Status: Resolved 

Solution:  The various  ship dates are "Estimated" ship dates. These dates can and will change according to the suppliers inventory. The suppliers got behind and are working to catch up. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information once the kit ships.

 

 

Issue 5: Indian and European customers are getting a tracking number once their Win 7 ships but cannot track shipment because there is no Link to a Tracking Website in email.

 

 

Status: Acknowledged - Dell is working to resolve this issue.
