I'm still impatiently waiting on my system too, but the updates on Dell's web-site have been much more timely for me. I'm in the US, but notice that folks in different countries have diffent experiences. In the US, there are 3 methods to check, all of which I use:
- The link originally provided in the confirmation email - this is the most detailed.
- Going to "check order status", and manually typing-in the order/customer number. The most up-to-date information appears as a single row in the resulting table. Selecting an order (in the table) takes you back to #1 above.
- Calling 800-999-3355, and selecting the first option (check order status).
I found that options 2 & 3 were more timely (by 1-2 days). Option 1 can be much slower to update.
I found option 3 to be most helpful. When prompted to check order status listen to the full recorded message, then say "None of those". There's an option to get detailed order information on the next recording.
Update: Status page shows Shipped as of 10/24.
Now the waiting begins... and if past history with UPS is any indication it'll be sometime past noon on the day of arrival when it shows up at my door.
Upon learning two days ago my order was in the "build" stage I decided to wait a bit and check the website for an update. No such luck on the website, calling just 5 minutes ago into the automated system I found my order is in the "boxing" stage. Meaning its close to being shipped.
Though I'm not going to hold my breath until I get a tracking number. Looks like its about a month's wait at this time from order to boxing. I ordered on the 26th of September, with an updated arrival date of the 30th of October.
