1. What functionality is included in the Server Energy Smart Toolkit?
A: The Dell Server Smart Energy Management toolkit assists with the ability to monitor and manage various energy characteristics of the Dell Platform. The toolkit is based on the OMSA agent, Baseboard Management Controller (BMC), and BIOS configuration. The toolkit provides documentation and guidelines for utilizing and taking management action on information and events about the target system via SNMP and IPMI. ISV solutions can integrate capabilities into their energy management solutions so that they can consume, and report to or take action for their users.

4. What Dell systems are supported by the toolkit?
A: Dell Energy Smart Management is focused around the latest generation of Dell servers such as the R710, but portions of the certification also apply to earlier servers such as the R900, R300, or PE2950. 5. What operating systems are supported by the Server Energy Smart Management Toolkit?
A: Dell supported operating systems for each release of the OMSA agent can be found on the download page under “compatibility” for the release which you are trying to download.
