Has anyone taken delivery of the New Studio XPS 435/8000/9000?

mine shipped today 15Jun with delivery of 16Jun. I hope yours ships this week too Carlinms, so did you tell your sales rep to ship it overnight?

no she couldn't. she said since the computer was in production she could not change the shipping option and gave me the number of dell customer service. i called them and spoke to some woman who claims her name is "sarah." this woman told me the same thing, gave me a different reason the shipping was delayed (claimed that the xps 435 is a "popular product"), and then asked if i wanted dell production to continue with building my computer??? that one really threw me off. so i went back to my sales rep and she hasn't responded in regards to what this woman was talking about from customer service. the updated delivery date is a week from today (it was originally supposed to come today) so i can only hope that it is still on schedule for on or before then.

Been busy my friend, I ripped about 700 movies to my server and setup a wireless connection to my Popcorn hour so no more messing around with disks!

checked my order status this morning and it has been pushed back yet again. this time to 6/30. i sent an email to my sales rep to see what lovely excuse they can give me this time....hope you are enjoying the computer j. hah.

i'm so sorry man! that's getting ridiculous now.. yeah I got mine yesterday and it runs great. it has 6 gb ram, hd4870 1024mb, i7-920. it runs pretty good.. i had to update the bios and the graphics driver tho.  some people say it's noisy but i disagree. it just sits there super quiet. did they ever mention that they're gonna expedite your order? if they have not, ask them to and make up a reason why you need it a certain date. ;)

yeah i'm livid. now i'm getting phone calls and emails from dell telling me if i don't respond and confirm by 9pm tonight that i want my order continued they will cancel it. i went like 3 managers up, and this woman will "look into it and get back to me in 24-48 hours." they keep claiming since it is "in production" everything is locked and they cannot change the shipping type.

if anyone from dell is out there reading this please contact me by email or phone and help me resolve this. this is my 5th dell machine and am trying to be a loyal customer but something like this is just disheartening.

thanks dude i got it. don't know if it will work but its worth a shot. i'm really surprised at dell's horrendous customer service in handling this issue and i haven't run into anything like this in the past. i always heard the customer service was hit or miss and i guess i must have been lucky in the past.

so how did it go carl? did u try it?

xps 435t is a great computer man -- i love the chassis! ;) i tried running flight simulator on it -- my laptop and my other desktop both average at around 10-15 frames per sec - and xps gives me an average of 60+ frames per sec when locked at 60frames -- but can yield around 100 when unlimited. -- and despite the graphics and the tasks, the processor doesnt go up more than 25% -- and that's with about 200gb that's already in the 640gb drive. so far i'm happy with it -- tho i regret for not getting the wireless option and the 1.5TB drive -- coulda maximized the system

i'm still waiting to hear back from this "customer service" person who probably won't call me back in the 24-48 hour time window she "promised." that's good to hear about the gaming i don't do much pc gaming but i was deep into world of warcraft and i plan to pick that back up whenever the computer arrives. also looking forward to aion in the near future.

My problem is little different, but goes along the lines of building/shipping. I got my 435T in 8 days after ordereing it. Only problem was it was DOA. did the normal 10 or 12 hours on tech support and finally got a exchange authorized. That was June 4th. They said it would be priority and It would ship overnight on the 11th, then the 12th, then the 15th, then the 17th now it is out to the 26th. They said the holdup was of the 640 gig hard drive as Dell didn't have any on hand.? I think these people will tell you anything that comes to mind just to get you off the phone and get to the next person.
