I'm wanting to hook my computer up to my tv and use it as a monitor. My tv has a Vga and Hdmi input but my computer has only a vga. would it be better to get a hdmi/vga cable and if i do do i need the audio cables? or to get just the vga cable on both ends?
Yes, you'll need to run cable from LINE OUT of your PC to AUDIO IN of your TV. Generally this is miniPlug to two RCA plugs.
If you insist on using HDMI input on your TV and not the VGA input, you will need a converter box that will cost about $200. Even then you'd still need the audio cable since VGA does not have audio.
