If you are in Orlando for the Dell Storage Forum, you are eligible to participate in the Tweet of the Day contest. Just do what you would normally do at a conference – tweet your thoughts, observations, etc. Use the hashtag #dellsf11. If we think your tweet is the best, you will win a $25 gift card. (check out the General Info section of your conference guide).
We need the community’s help to identify the best tweets. If you see a good tweet, please retweet it. Make sure the #dellsf11 hashtag remains intact, and add the hashtag #fav.
We’ll decide on the winner every evening, and let everyone know in our morning round-up posts.

Sorry to leave my comments on this blog thread. As far as I can tell, this is not an open forum. Rather it appears to be a controlled forum, where negative comments about Dell are not allowed and/or are purged. I wonder how long my comments below will remain in this blog space.
My comments are regarding Dell service and Dell communications with it's customers. At one time, Dell was ranked very high for customer service. In fact, that's why I purchased 2 Dell computers. However, something must have changed, because now I find dell's service and support communications the absolute worst I've ever experienced.
Number one, Dell doesn't accept emails from it's customers. If you have any concern, you must first speak with someone in India, who despite knowing the English language, doesn't know how to communicate. You cannot ask a direct question and expect to get a direct answer. All they know is to read from their specified script. Sorry Dell, that's not communication.
Funny thing is that any executive in any company who refuses to hear comments from their customers is a - no other word for it - complete fool. A smart executuve knows that their company's reputation and thereby their sales are dependent on customers having a positive experience with the company. Don't believe me? Think I'm just a complainer? I dare any Dell executive to try to contact the Dell support system as a customer, They'd be shocked how absolutely dysfunctional and frustating it is.
I had one simple question to be answered. Does Dell offer a fixed-price, reconditioning service for the Inspiron laptops. It took 40 minutes, with four different Dell representatives - all from India - where I had to repeat the same information to each person several times. If that's not enough to frustrate anyone, they still didin't have an answer for me. They wanted to pass me onto yet another rep from India. Sorry, but I hung up in frustration. If Dell thinks this is good service, they're wrong.
Unless this blog make's it's way to Dell's upper management, they've lost yet another customer to only what I can describe as arrogance.
I'm writing this from the Dell Storage Forum Fluid Blogger's Lounge. We still have some set up to do - the hotel IT guys are here right now setting up some ethernet drops for us. We should be ready to rock and roll tomorrow morning!
I thought I'd take a minute to share some of the great posts folks have made as they are getting ready to come outo Orlando, and then let y'all know what we'll be doing today, on the official Day 1 of the Dell Storage Forum.

I've been holding off on doing my wrap-up post of the Dell Storage Forum because I wanted to wait until other folks finished posting about their conference take-aways. But you people are maniacs -- the content just keeps rolling in! :) I give up, here's my wrap-up. If I miss something you posted, or if you post something after this goes live (ahem Mr. Lund...), please add a comment with your link!
Fluid data architecture
The theme of the conference was Dell's fluid data architecture. Everywhere you looked you could see the fluid influence.
Every one of the b ig releases at the conference where about solidifying this architecture .
Folks in Orlando told us what fluid means to them in this video .
