Since Dell entered the ICT / Telecommunications market with core network grade hardware, software, and services we have learned quite a bit about what our customers need from us and we strive to bring the right offerings to them based on Dell’s established strengths and growing capabilities. One of the most intriguing capabilities Dell brings is our phenomenal supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities combined with our relentless pursuit of compatibility and stability in our OEM Enterprise Server solutions.
Our incredible team of dedicated OEM engineers and logistic experts applied all their know-how to the well-received 1U and 2U Carrier-Grade PowerEdge ™ rack mount servers, the R720 t and R620 t. We ship these highly stable and reliable platforms for 12 months without any image impacting changes to ensure every second of engineering and development resources our customers have applied to testing and certifying their solutions on the servers has been retained in shipping products.
So, it is with great pride we are announcing several new features to these two NEBS Level-3 and ETSI certified rack-mount servers to add choice and flexibility to our customers’ solutions as well as incorporate some of the latest technologies Dell is adopting across our enterprise server line. Starting May 20th, 2013, we are adding the option to purchase the R720 t and R620 t with:
All five of these new options are additions to the solution and none of the previous options are going away. Also, while we are adding these great options, any configuration being purchased today can continue to be purchased without any changes. Even if you add any of these options the system operating system image will not need to be altered except to add support for the new option if necessary. Clearly the power supply and rail options will not impact any software, but the storage and networking options might require new drivers or RAID configurations in certain cases.
This commitment to stability while ensuring new features are incorporated into Telco grade servers is a solid demonstration of Dell’s commitment to the ICT marketplace.
Please let me know how you can use these new features in your Telecom solution.
