On November 4, Gartner released its ITAD Magic Quadrant and Dell Services was named to the Leaders Quadrant. IT Asset Disposition is an often overlooked but inevitable phase of the IT equipment lifecycle. Indefinite storage of old or obsolete computer equipment is expensive and can clutter public areas and hallways.

But proper disposal is complicated. Customers need to ensure that their data is secure. From personal financial information and highly confidential health records, to corporate intellectual property, information on servers, desktops, and notebooks across the globe includes some of the most sensitive and proprietary data. In addition, our customers truly care about the environment and not only want to meet, but exceed regulatory guidelines. We can solve all of these concerns for our customers.

Dell customers gain peace of mind

Dell Asset Resale and Recycling Services offer our customers a simple process to manage disposal of old systems, while protecting data and the environment. We can even wring out value from some of those systems and get our customers a little cash back with our resale service. Systems assessed to have no resale value are recycled responsibly. In doing so, we do not permit electronic waste to be exported from developed countries to developing countries either directly or through intermediaries. To protect sensitive data we remove labels from equipment, overwrite readable hard drives with a 3-pass data wipe* and shred inoperable disks.

Our customers must be certain that we have done the job completely and correctly.  And we fulfill this need with extensive documentation including a Confirmation of Disposal and a Settlement Report.

So what does it mean to be in the Leaders Quadrant?

Leaders in the ITAD market execute well against their current robust vision, and are well positioned for the future. The vendors in the Leaders quadrant register the highest scores on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.

These vendors typically have wider geographic coverage, both within North America and globally. Significant weight is placed on geographic coverage through direct, owned and operated facilities (vs. indirect coverage through partners), with special emphasis on North America. While this Magic Quadrant specifically evaluates the North American ITAD marketplace, our research indicates that many North America-based multinational enterprises place significant value on a robust international ITAD presence.

Vendors in the Leaders quadrant are also characterized by comprehensive sales organizations, financial stability, a clear and consistent commitment to the ITAD market, comprehensive customer support, broader service portfolios, and greater market presence.
