Dell Solution Center Opening - Limerick, Ireland

The first of twelve global Dell Solution Centers scheduled to open this year officially launched today in Limerick. The Solution Centers were first announced on April 7 as part of a $1bn investment by Dell, for the development and implementation of innovative solutions and services enabling our customers worldwide to grow and thrive.

Ireland has been selected for both a Solution Center and a Cloud Center of Excellence, as announced on June 6 in New York by Steve Schuckenbrock, President of Dell Services.  The Irish announcement of both centers was made in Dublin earlier today by the Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny who was joined by the Minister for Finance Michael Noonan TD and Jeff Clarke, Vice Chairman, Global Operations and End User Computing Solutions.

The Limerick Solution Center was then officially opened by Sean Sherlock TD, Minister for Research and Innovation at a ceremony attended by a number of customers, partners and local business influencers.

The Power to do More through Dell Solution Centers

The event included a tour of the center to showcase how Dell has evolved from primarily a hardware provider to an innovative solutions provider encompassing cloud technologies, next generation end user and data center computing solutions and industry solutions for sectors including healthcare, education and public safety. Guests viewed the dedicated lab environments that illustrate the services and solutions that can be tailored to meet our customers’ needs. Solution centers are a critical resource for customers evaluating a solution; before they invest, they can get hands-on demonstrations of how the technology will work, explore the solutions to ensure they will meet their business needs and then learn how to reduce risk around deployment in their own environment.

Jan Uhrich, Vice President of Dell’s Services and Solutions Group, describes the value of the Solution Centers.

“At the Dell Solution Centers, we work with customers to help them make the most of Dell’s industry-focused solutions and domain expertise with the benefits of building belief and reducing risk around solution deployment in their organization.”

Looking ahead – Expanding the Dell Solution Centers Global Network

A number of centers are now open for business: Singapore, Shanghai and Frankfurt are open for customer engagements and will officially launch in the coming months. Our US centers in Austin, Washington DC and Buffalo Grove Chicago will all open in mid-June. Paris and Tokyo will open later in the summer, with Sydney, New York City and Sao Paulo opening later in the 2nd half of the year.

We’ll keep you up to date as we launch more centers. If you would benefit from a Solution Center engagement, please contact your Dell account team for more information.

  • Back in April, Dell announced that it was making a billion dollar investment to further drive its evolution from a systems to a services company. Specifically we talked about delivering a raft of new solutions, launching 10 cloud data centers around the world and building out a global network of solutions centers.

The solution centers are customer facing facilities that will act as a “living lab” providing an environment and the support for customers to architect, build and test proof of concepts involving Dell products, services and solutions. The centers will also support solution integration, technical briefings and validation and ISV certification to meet regional requirements. Last month the first of these centers were opened in Limerick , Ireland and Shanghai .

This morning the first US solutions center opened at Dell HQ here in Austin. Here is a short montage of the opening ceremonies.
