If you’re an Alienware fan on FaceBook , or you’ve been to any number of Alienware sponsored events across the country, you’re probably familiar with the Alienware hummer. This amazing piece of “alien technology” was lovingly crafted by our friends at West Coast Customs, and made its earthly debut in June of this year at ComiCon 2010. For the uninitiated, details about this H1 military grade Hummer can be found at the Alienware Mobile Tour website. The hummer recently made a trip from Las Vegas to...

Since its debut earlier this year during the 2010 Intel Developer Forum , the Inspiron duo convertible tablet has created an incredible amount of buzz on the web. I bet many of you may have already checked out the preview video on our Dell YouTube channel. It’s now the second-most viewed video there. I was able to take the duo for a spin/flip over the weekend and quickly realized that it is more than just a tablet, it felt more like a multimedia computing device. For kids, the...

The bar code has a much longer history than you probably realize. The Universal Product Code, or U.P.C., that we know from retail checkout systems was developed by the US grocery industry in the early 1970s; but, this sort of linear bar code (or 1D bar code as some now refer to it) actually had its origins 25 years earlier as an attempt to track railroad freight cars. Inspiration apparently came from Morse code. Looking at the dots and dashes of some code drawn in the sand, the inventor just...

Doesn't take long in the #dellvenuepro tweetstream to see that potential Venue Pro customers are waiting for us to share official details. We are currently ramping production so that we can launch the Venue Pro on a bigger scale. Bottom line, Dell wants to be sure when you place an order that we can ship your Venue Pro in a timely manner. Like Bill mentioned before , initially, we plan to offer it to customers in the United States via T-Mobile. I've also seen the chatter about the Windows...

Update from Lionel (January 15, 2011): I know on he #dellstreak hashtag and many other places on the web, many customers are asking when the update is going to happen. What is social commerce? It's a term you'll be hearing more and more, and it's already got a Wikipedia entry . But what does it look like?
