There's been a lot of chatter about #DellStreak since we kicked off the Streak pre-sale for US customers this week. More official details are coming next week. I want to take a few minutes to explain some details regarding the pre-sale.
Starting July 20, we kicked off the pre-sale opportunity for eager customers in the United States. Pre-sale registrants get first access to pre-order the Dell Streak through Dell.com. Beyond getting access to the exclusive pre-sale purchase window, customers who sign up during the pre-sale period will also receive a free second-day shipping upgrade as well as a coupon for a Plantronics Bluetooth earpiece for just 99 cents. Clicking on the link below will also take you directly to the pre-sale site.
If you want to be among the first customers in the US to order a Dell Streak, here's what to do:
Registering will sign you up for a spot to pre-order a Dell Streak. Next week, customers who register will receive an email from Dell that will contain a unique purchase link. That email will also contain a coupon code enabling you to buy the Plantronics Bluetooth headset for 99 cents. If you place your order from the unique purchase link that you will receive next week, you will be ordering before the general public when it will be available for order by all US customers.
In other words, if you have already registered (or intend to register), the important point is to look for an email from Dell next week. I will update this post about the timing of that email note next week.

Will Dell be only selling unlocked devices or subsidized devices for At&t too? From this post, it seems to be only be clear that nothing is happening until next week.
Clarification on actual Release Date, Price, HW & SW Specs plus Carriers would be more helpful :)
If it counts - and hoping you see it a real fan comment - Dell's handling of the Streak publicity and PR is horrible.
We waited for so so long and still you don't say much. BIG announcement this week? seriously - now its a mail next week.
What about some data for people who ponder whether to buy the Streak vs. the Captivate and so forth?
Why not at least give the price for the unlocked version? confirmation for tmobile?
So far the only thing coming out was that its still with 1.6 and I can tell you that a lot of people including myself may just wait for the update before buying probably the only 1.6 new device ...
Sorry I am a fan - and probably that is making me so disappointed of the way you postponed this release and the way you manage the PR around it.

Yeah i'm a bit confused by Dell's strategy here too, they should have released the streak a while ago. I'm wondering why the europeans got first crack at it.
I really think Dell is going to have to work hard to get froyo on the device soon after it's released.

It's quite unfortunate how poorly this device has been marketed so far for the US. We're expected to get in line to purchase a device that a carrier hasn't even been announced for yet. We're expected to get in line to purchase a device that we do not know the price for yet. Of course everyone has gotten in line. It means nothing until we know more details. We may be able to PURCHASE in 'late July', but with so much delay already, you have given no indication that they may not even SHIP for weeks or worst case months later.
It's quite disappointing Dell.

it brings you directly to the Dell Streak US pre-sale.
Does that mean, that it is also valid for germany?
Or when we will be able to buy the streak in germany? UK already can... for france it is also promised....

The deal breaker - if the final hardware does not support 3G T-Mobile USA, then it is a shame.
My main concern is whether we will have to pre-order without knowing it's AT&T subsidy status. I'm due a new phone on AT&T. Will this be subsidized on AT&T? I'll be pretty damn mad if I buy this thing pre-order for full price and the week (or month) after AT&T announces it's offered subsidized on contract. I share the other commentator's disappointment in the slow roll out, 1.6 Android, and so on, but paying more than I have to for the device, since I'm stuck on AT&T anyway (due to wife's iPhone) will convert that disappointment into anger.
I am really hoping that there will be a T-Mobile Version or not? I am really waiting for the T-Mobile version and do not know if I should wait or not?

So this sunday it will be releaseing :) and i have heard alot of lies from dell.com reps its this true or false Lionel Menchaca. that you will be able to choose your carrier when you purchuse like T-mobile, AT&T, Verizon and it will be unlocked to that certain carrier? please answer thank you :)

26-July-2010. 10:20 EST. No mail. No hint. No pricing for unlocked. No mention if there will be even unlocked. No mention on colors and accessories. No mention on at&t and/or tmobile. No idea on when 2.1/2.2 can be upgraded. Nothing.
Fire your PR team/Director/VP. Even if u were bound by a deal with AT&T mind you - the fact that you had signed that deal is a HUGE mistake. On the streets no one knows what this Streak is. Only us fans and tech freaks.
I am very disappointed. Sorry.
