System-Specific Driver Listing Now Available for XPS and Dell Precision Workstation Customers

  • Comments 4

If you own an XPS machine, or a Dell Precision workstation, it should be a little easier to find appropriate drivers for your system because we recently added global functionality on support.dell.com that limits the drivers listed to the ones that are applicable to your configuration.

We started rolling out this functionality back in July for some Inspiron laptops. Then in October, we expanded it to several lines of products including Inspiron, Latitude, Optiplex, Dimension, Vostro and Studio systems.

Though we might have been a bit too late to help customers like Neville Hobson out, hopefully this will be useful to other XPS or Dell Precision workstation customers who need to update a driver or two over the holidays.

  • Hi, I have just started using the forum,I have a microphone problem and get message whenever I try to use it....An audio recording device cannot be found. I have a XPS 420 and I have nothing wrong with my media player or TV applications and cannot understand why i get this message. I am a complete novice. I have had this computer for a year and have just started to try to use it properly since I retired.I would appreciate some advice as how to resolve this problem
  • i want windows 2003 drivers(audio and video) where it avilable i am using dell vostro 1500 plz give me downloads url
  • i'm trying to repair windows with my cd and it states no hard drives present? When I bootup it states--windows\system32\config\system try repairing windows? when I start operating cd it goes through process and says no hard drives present?? I ran a harddrive test and they both passed.. sata-raid 0 drives???Bios sees them but i another part it says "not present"
  • @packskinfan It could simply be that your BIOS needs to be reset so the system's memory can read the drives correctly. You may want to repost your question in the Disk Drive section of the forums, where the members there should be able to provide you with ways to test your system to find out for sure.
