Last week, Google launched Chrome, a new open source web browser built from the ground up.

The big question is what does this mean for your business? Should you begin using the web browser when creating and updating your businesses Web page? There’s a lot of buzz about Chrome, but it's worth looking at both the good and bad of the new tool when it comes to your business.

There are a lot of upsides to using the new browser:

· Faster

· Smarter memory management

· Crash free application browsing

· Browser for applications and not just web pages

· Tabs on top allowing for quicker navigation

· Open source

While the new browser seems like a wise decision, there are some cautionary notes regarding Google’s licensing agreement which has now been removed:

  'a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content that you submit, post or display on or through'

This means that if you upload materials to your Web site like logos, etc. Google has a right to do whatever it wants with the content.  While the likelihood of this is minimal, it’s something to be aware of.
