With the introduction of hot corners, new keyboard shortcuts, and an easier and faster search Windows 8 offers you plenty of ways to get from A to B your way. However since Win8 is very different from its predecessors it might be a little confusing to get around, especially since most of your traditional navigation routes, like using the start menu, are no longer around.
After spending some time in Windows 8 I quickly realized that I wasn’t able to get around as easily as I could in Windows 7. I read through blogs, books, forums, and even watched videos on how to navigate easily to things like the Control Panel, or My Computer. Now I feel like I can get anywhere just as quickly as I could in Windows 7, if not faster. I’m not going to expect you to take my word on that though, and I don’t want you to have to do all the research and trial and error I had to go through to get to my comfort level, so I put together this video. Hopefully by the time you’re done watching this tutorial you’ll have a basic idea of how to get to your favorite spots and be able to confidently start navigating around on your own. I’m planning on making a more detailed keyboard shortcuts video in the near future. If you have some shortcuts you’d like shown in the next video please leave them in the comments below.
