Dell announced on Tuesday plans to open the Dell Silicon Valley Research and Development Center in Santa Clara.  Check out the details in our press release.  Occupancy will begin in the second half of the year and will complement our Israel Research and Development Center in Ra'anana.  The Silicon Valley facility will support our expansion of solutions capabilities including networking design and development, storage development and cloud computing.

The 240,000 square foot leased space will serve to combine operations of several companies Dell has acquired in the area including Zing, Ocarina, Scalent and Everdream.  Not only will the new facility be great for current team members but as Brad Anderson commented, "we also want it to attract new and vital talent to help create industry-leading solutions for Dell's customers."  Dell expects to hire several hundred new team members growing to approximately 700 team members working there by the end of the year.  Ultimately we project growing to 1,500 team members over the next five years.

As always, we welcome your questions and comments.
