XPS 8500, new motherboard for newer CPU?
I'm wanting to get a new MB for my old PC so I can put new CPUs in. Are there any MB recommendations that I could use?

There's very little in a system that old that's reuseable, and while you may be able to retrofit a standard board if you're handy cutting and drilling sheet metal, and rewiring, it won't save you the need for a new power supply, all new RAM, and a new copy of Windows -- among the rest of the extensive list you'll need.
It's really not worth saving the (sub-$100) cost of a new case when everything else inside needs to be replaced.

any standard microATX board will fit 8500 case. you only lose USB 3.0 b/c case has only 2.0 ports at front I believe
can put a 8930/8920/8910 board for example in 8500 case

@ejn63 I figured I could just keep the case for a sleeper build, and according to @redxps630 I can use any microATX board so I can try that I guess. Yes, a new PC case would be great because of airflow, positioning, and whatever else, but I don't necessarily need a new one currently. I already upgraded the 1 TB HDD to a 1 TB SSD.

8500 case FIO connector uses standard 9 pin. the rest of USB 2.0 and HD audio connectors also standard.
