Wyse 3040 Power Adaptor

Hi everyone

I just purchased 4 second hand 3040 Wyse terminals and have noticed that the power adapters that came with them don't match the terminals. (Note - The model numbers are the same across all 4 "N10D").

The Units I got were

  • 3 x 5V at 3A (DP/N: 9D3FH)
  • 1 x 12V at 2A (DP/N: KMT0M)

The Power Adapters that came were

  • 1 x 5V at 3A (Part No WA-15IO5R)
  • 3 x 12V at 2A (Part No WB-24J12R)

Looking at the manual for the 3040 Wyse it says that they come in 2 voltage ranges, but that is all.

Internally they look exactly the same and according to the PCB, the input fuse is 16V.

I know that the 12V terminal works with the 5V adapter, but I am hesitant to try the 5V terminal with the 12V adapter.

Any advise?

Thanks Tim

I have 2 of these and the base of the casing has a lot of printed information, including the voltage and current! In my case(s) 5V at 3A. Mine date from 2018 and 2019.
