r730: predictive failure on 6TB ST6000NM0095: what to replace it with?

Keep getting full and predictive failures on a specific drive in a RAID6 array, on r730.

  • What is the best drop-in replacement? (Exact same or equivalent Dell part?)
  • Would any ST6000NM0095 do, or does it have to be a Dell PN?
  • Would any (Dell or non-Dell) drive work as long as it's the same capacity (or larger), geometry (sector size), and roughly the same speed? (All the usually red flags of mixing different drives in a single array notwithstanding...)

The drive is a Dell PN 1YZ210-150 (Seagate ST6000NM0095), rev. DS23

I don't see however that part number (or anything saying "Dell") on the drive properties page - which makes me wonder if dropping in a Seagate part would work.

Appreciate any and all help - thank you!

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.

I see that it's time for a disk replacement.

The part # I see is

RHVWG     HD,6.0T,722E,S12,3.5,S-MBP,EC

Respectfully,

P.S. the array is a mixture of 3 ST6000NM0095 and 5 ST6000NM0034 (all the same specs, seemingly) drives.
