Dell PowerEdge R430 Firmware Stages

Good Morning,

I have a legacy R430 that is well out of support and is in need of both BIOS and iDRAC updates. The current firmware versions are as follows:

FIRMWARE CURRENT PLANNED
iDRAC 2.70.70.70 2.85.85.85
BIOS 2.11.0 2.18.2

What I am looking to find out is if these are both straight shots or do they need to be staged? I am hoping someone here will be able to answer this. Thanks in advance!

Hello kellyMHC,

From your current version you can step up:

First:

BIOS 2.13.0

https://dell.to/46UqtnW

iDRAC 2.81.81.81

https://dell.to/41liTSw

Second:

BIOS 2.18.2

https://dell.to/479RJzj

iDRAC 2.85.85.85

https://dell.to/3RALK1N

I recommend update BIOS first and reboot to apply then do the iDRAC update on each step.

@Dell -Charles R Thank you for responding. I will take these steps specifically. Probably not till the new year. But thank you again.
