wd black sn850p and precision 7740
May anyone has installed WD black sn850p ssd drve to dell 7740, i need to be sure before buying that it will fit in the bay due to its big heatsink, and thankfuly share its speed benchmark, is it worth the high price?
Many thanks in advance

The WD black with factory heatsink is designed for desktops -- it will not fit your notebook system. You need the model without the heatsink.

Thanks a lot for prompt reply, I bought sn850x without heatsink instead and it fitted good pf course, but the max speed is 3400 mb/s, it should run near 7300 as its specs stated everywhere, is there any clue? Many thanks.

That system should support PCIe 4X4 or 32 G/s -- are you running the drive in AHCI mode or in Intel RST (RAID) mode? The Intel driver may limit the drive to PCIe 3X4 speed.

@ejn63 currently, i am running the drive in AHCI mode. I thought that the m.2 slots are different in supporting PCIe speed, so i tried 2 slots that give me the same speed, i tried the slot number 3 and the slot to the right of the ram i guess it is slot number 6.
