Precision 7740 power supply within TB16 Dock
Hello,
I'm writting with an idea to use TB16 docking station with 7740. Will it work if I connect a 240W power supply directly to laptop and lower wattage power supply to dock?

Ok, I tested it and i can return that it's working properly. 65W power supply only for dock energy demand is enough.

The dock needs 180W, so as long as you use at least that capacity, what you want to do will work. The system will take power from only one input (barrel connector or TB port) at a time.
