Yes, the Precision 7875 supports eight DIMM slots of DDR5 RDIMM, 4800 MT/s ECC.  However, the memory size per slot are 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, with minimum of 16 GB and maximum of 2 TB memory configurations.  The system will also support 5600 modules at the speed of 5200 MT/s.

Here are the supported memory configurations:

● 16 GB: 1 x 16 GB, DDR4, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 32 GB: 2 x 16 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 64 GB: 4 x 16 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 64 GB: 2 x 32 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 128 GB: 8 x 16 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 128 GB: 4 x 32 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 256 GB: 8 x 32 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 256 GB: 4 x 64 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 512 GB: 8 x 64 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 512 GB: 4 x 128 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 768 GB: 6 x 128 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 1024 GB: 8 x 128 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 1024 GB: 4 x 256 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 1536 GB: 6 x 256 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC
● 2048 GB: 8 x 256 GB, DDR5, 4800 MT/s, ECC

Not supported does not mean that it won't be working.  If you have 96 GB modules on hand, just run test without mixing with OEM's.  Many outside of specs have been attempted and validated by users.

@Chino de Oro Thank you for the information!

Thank you!

In the spec sheet for the Precision 7875 Tower, I see

"Maximum speed: 4800 MT/s, ECC and 5200 MT/s, ECC (Supported with 5600 module)"

Does "5600 module" mean you install a memory module such as the one below, and the memory will work at 5200 MT/s?

Micron 64GB DDR5-5600 RDIMM 2Rx4 CL46

DDR5-5600MT/s • 64GB Module Capacity • 16Gb Die Density • RDIMM • 2 Rank x 4 • PC5-44800 • CL=46 • Ext Timing 46-45-45 • 1.1V/(12V ext) • ECC • Single

Correct, those higher speed modules will be downclocked to Dell specs of 5200 MT/s.  For Micron, purchase directly from official site like Crucial for their working guarantee (free return) and warranty supports.

Even though Crucial is made by Micron, there's been issues with Crucial working in some newer Dell's.

What has been known working:

  1. Dell branded RAM
  2. Micron
  3. Samsung
  4. Hynix - Dell's typical OEM
