OptiPlex XE4 Failing to POST
OptiPlex XE4
Hi, we have a OptiPlex XE4 which is about a year old. it recently started having issues. I ran the diagnostics test and everything passed. But ti fails to boot into OS.
It boots and there is just a solid white rectangle on a black screen. No OS. I tried disabling the SecureBoot and that didn't make a difference.

update. turns out it was a failed drive. diagnostics doesn't detect it but intel raid bios does. going in there and changing it from failed to degraded fixed the issues.

Ok no post means no video at all, no Dell logo.
no boot means it passed post but fails to boot into OS, which sounds like your issue.
try press F2 or F12 to verify you can enter bios setup or boot menu. If yes, your pc can post. Then the OS may be corrupted. You can do a clean OS install which wipes the hard drive or SSD, or you can install OS on a different drive and boot from there then recover data on your original drive

the video is now working, what seems to be the problem is the user updated the BIOS and it is not finding the Windows UEFI boot settings. They are blank.
