Displayport not recognising TV as a Playback device
I have recently installed an Optiplex 5050 SFF with Windows 10 and I'm using it with two monitors in Extended Display mode, the primary display is to a 24" monitor via a VGA connection and the second is a TV Screen via a Displayport, but I want the sound to come out of the TV Screen and although I can extend the image from the primary monitor fine, it is not recognised as a Playback device in the sound settings.
The cable between the TV and the PC is an HDMI cable and I'm using an adapter cable to connect it to the Displayport.
Why is the TV not recognised as a Playback device in the sound settings.

"The cable between the TV and the PC is an HDMI cable and I'm using an adapter cable to connect it to the Displayport." Fault might be in the adapter cable.
The 5050 SFF has 2 DP's and one HDMI. Sounds like yours also has an optional VGA connection? I might be missing something, but why is an adapter cable being used?
I'd either try a different adapter or a direct hookup, like HDMI to HDMI for example.
