7020 i7 4790 max ram
I was thinking about getting an optiplex 7020 that comes with an i7 4790 cpu. What would tha maximum ram be that I could install on this computer???

32G as 4X8 but you may want to consider a newer system that uses DDR4 memory, which is less expensive than the obsolete DDR3 that the 7020 uses.

after heeding 10 elder advice if you still want to go after 7020 try to get a mini tower and not SFF. the mini tower case can support microATX motherboard upgrade and psu upgrade.
and if you decide to skip dddr3 then leap to intel 8th gen. do not bother 6-7th gen cpu as they only have 4 core cpu, not much faster than 4790 only more energy efficient. i7-8700 however is game changer 6 core coffee lake. I see people trying to get rid of 6700 and 7700 cpu every where and not so easy.
